Tommy Greer, CPA

Treasurer

Tommy Greer has more than twenty five years of experience providing accounting and consulting services to a wide variety of clients. Tommy is the former managing partner for Blackburn, Childers & Steagall, PLC.

During his years of experience, Tommy has served clients in such diverse areas as professional services, manufacturing, construction, wholesale/retail businesses, colleges, and nonprofit entities. He has experience providing the following services: audit and tax, management review and consulting to improve profitability, administrative systems, budgeting, financial long range planning, and organizational studies.

Having over 25 years experience leading a CPA firm, Tommy assists in managing the day to day operational/administrative side of Covenant and is also heavily involved in the planning and vision casting for the long term success of the trust company.  His past audit experience has also been important in helping develop processes and monitoring compliance issues to make sure the company stays in excellent standing with the division of banking and other governing bodies in all the states Covenant serves.  As a Board member and trust committee member, Tommy’s 30 plus years in accounting and finance serves him well in his ability to help make sound decisions as it applies both to the trust document but also the beneficiaries involved.

He has served on and Chaired the Board of Elders at First Christian Church in Johnson City and currently serves as the Chair of the Finance Committee. He assists non profits and other entities with long range planning retreats, and in 2006 was recognized by Standard Publishing as a “Leader in Christian Service.”

Tommy received his accounting degree from East Tennessee State University.
